UT Martin student accused of threatening another student with a gun

A student from the University of Tennessee at Martin is in jail for allegedly threatening another student with a gun.

Captain Phillip Fuqua tells us a student was sleeping at a fraternity house waiting for a friend.

He says that’s when several fraternity members, including 22-year-old Jake Melaro, threatened to hurt him if he didn’t leave.

The student claims Melaro threatened him with a rifle.

Officers arrested Melaro and found a semi-automatic rife in his possession.

He is facing aggravated assault charges.
