West Paducah man injured in ATV crash

A local man had to be taken to an Indiana hospital for serious injuries after an ATV wreck in McCracken County Thursday.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department says deputies responded to the wreck in the area of 7920 Mayfield Metropolis Road around 6:49 p.m. Thursday. On arrival, deputies found 34-year-old Lendon Wray of West Paducah.

The sheriff’s department says Wray was headed southbound on Mayfield Metropolis Road on a 1987 Honda three-wheeler when he left the roadway and hit a trash can. He then continued through a yard, where he hit the corner of a fence and was ejected from the ATV.

Deputies say Wray was not wearing a helmet and had been operating the ATV on the roadway. He was taken to a local hospital and then flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, for critical injuries.

Mercy Regional EMS, the West McCracken Fire Department and Lent’s Towing assisted at the scene.
