Site of trooper shooting on I-24 reopened

The section of Interstate 24 in Lyon and Caldwell Counties that was closed for the investigation of the shooting death of a Kentucky state trooper has now been cleared, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The shooting happened Sunday night, and investigators had closed I-24 from the 45 to 56 mile marker to gather evidence until about 2 p.m. Monday. KSP spokesman Keith Todd says the roadway is now open to traffic.
