“Science Guy” Jason Lindsey to be recognized for education contributions

Our “Science Guy,” Jason Lindsey, is being recognized for his contributions to increasing the public’s weather awareness.

Lindsey tells us he has been named a recipient of the National Weather Association’s Public Education Award for the Hooked on Science segment and the Mobile Weather Lab school program. The Mobile Weather Lab teaches students about weather through hands-on science, allowing them to collect weather data from a weather station, learn how to read a weather map, create clouds, and other activities.

Lindsey also previously earned the National Weather Association’s broadcast Seal of Approval 12 years ago. The association will officially announce the Public Education Award winners later this month.
