Police investigating drowning near Cape Girardeau, MO

A man drowned in the Mississippi River near Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

The Missouri Highway Safety Patrol says 30-year-old Ronald Silavent was swimming in a dike on Wednesday.

The report says Silavent went under water and did not come up.

The county coroner pronounced Silavent dead at the scene.
