Lake Barkley Bridge Reduced To One Lane Monday

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane on the US 68 Lake Barkley Bridge at Canton during daylight hours starting Monday, September 21, 2015.

The daytime lane restriction will allow deck patching on the bridge. This daytime work zone is expected to be in place through Friday, September 25th. Some delays are likely, particularly during peak travel periods.

PCL Civil Construction of Denver has started construction of a new $128.3 million Lake Barkley Bridge immediately downstream from the existing structure.

The new Lake Barkley bridge is expected to be open to traffic by October 2017. It will be of a basket handle arch design to match the New Eggners Ferry Bridge over Kentucky Lake under construction at Aurora.
