Two schools in Local 6 area in 2015 Kentucky Winner’s Circle

Two schools in the Local 6 area will be recognized for "outstanding teaching and learning conditions" as part of the Kentucky Winner’s Circle, the state department of education said Monday.

Ballard Memorial High School in Ballard County and North Marshall Middle School in Marshall County were among 10 schools recognized in the Winner’s Circle. The department of education says they will be shared as models of best practices across the state. The schools were picked based on their 2015 TELL Kentucky Survey results, school safety and student achievement scores.

The other schools in the Winner’s Circle are:

Earlington Elementary School, Hopkins County
Park City Elementary School, Barren County
Gamaliel Elementary School, Monroe County
Thomas Nelson High School, Nelson County
Chenoweth Elementary School, Jefferson County
Carter G. Woodson Academy, Fayette County
Arnett Elementary School, Erlanger-Elsmere
Allen Central High School, Floyd County
