Two men arrested on firearms charges in Graves County
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office says in the past two days two men were arrested on charges of carrying concealed firearms and drug charges.
Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says Monday a detective saw Brett Gream of the Pryorsburg community operating an off-road motorcycle on US 45 in Wingo and conducted a traffic stop. Redmon says the detective saw what looked like the butt of a handgun sticking out of Gream’s waistband while the detective was waiting on a check of Gream’s driver’s license.
Gream was searched, and a bag of marijuana was found in his pocket.
On Tuesday, a Wingo police officer contacted the sheriff’s detective asking for assistance with someone at the KY Mart in Wingo on US 45 South. The officer said he’d gotten a call from someone at the business who was concerned because there appeared to be a gun in the man’s pants. Once at the store, authorities arrested Steven Holmes Jr. of Hickory. He is accused of concealing a .22 caliber gun in his pants.
Redmon says Holmes also had a small bag of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine in his pocket.
