Road back open in Marshall County after brush fire

UPDATE 4:48 p.m.: Kentucky State Police says the scene has been cleared and the roadway is back open.

UPDATE 3:57 p.m.: Marshall County officials tell Local 6 that Briensburg Road and Tatumsville Road will be closed at Epps Lane just north of Dyke Road until further notice because of the brush fire. Drivers are asked to avoid the area, because multiple agencies are working on the scene. 

The Kentucky State Police says seven fire departments, Marshall County Rescue, the Marshall County Sheriffs Office, DES, and Emergency Management on scene.

Original 2:37 p.m.: Members of local law enforcement are warning folks to avoid a private drive in Marshall County because of a brush fire. 

Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Byars says the brush fire is off Epps Lane. At last report, it has not reached any structures. However, Byars wants people to avoid the area of the intersection of Epps Lane and Briensburg Tatumsville Road.

Byars said there will be some folks with his department patrolling that area.  He didn’t say it was shut down, but he wants people to stay away for now.
