Union City under boil water order, no school Monday

A main water line in Union City, Tennessee broke Saturday, causing a boil water notice for all of the Union City Water District customers.

Construction crews were working on the line on Martin Luther King Drive when the rupture happened.  City Manager Kathy Dillon says water has been restored, but some customers may experience air in the lines.

The boil water notice will run to at least 11am Monday, according to Dillon because it takes 24 hours to receive test results.

There is no school Monday for the Obion County School District.  Union City Schools will also not have classes, but the superintendent says teachers and staff need to report to work.  Dillon also says surgeries at Baptist Health have been cancelled for Monday.
