Convicted sex offender arrested for being non-compliant with requirements

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department says they arrested a man that was non-compliant with the requirements of being a registered sex offender.

Monday evening, deputies were dispatched to a home on Harris Road looking for a suspect in a vehicle theft as well as the stolen vehicle.

At the home they found 48-year-old Kip William Myers.

Deputies say that Myers was listed as a registered sex offender in Graves County and had been arrested in August for being non-compliant.

Myers was out of jail on bond for that charge. As a condition of his bond, Myers was to immediately register with the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry.

Deputies found he had failed to follow the court order.

Myers was arrested and charged with failing to register as a sex offender.

He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Myers has felony convictions for sexual abuse 1st degree and unlawful transaction with a minor 1st degree. The victim was 12 years old.
