Semi crash blocks traffic on Purchase Parkway

The southbound lanes of the Purchase Parkway near Mayfield, Kentucky are back open after a semi crash Monday morning.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office says a semi overturned near mile marker 27 around 7:16 a.m.

The driver of semi, Patrick lee Jr. of Wheller, Texas, was taken to the Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

His wife, Merle Shug, was in the sleeper berth at the time of the crash. She was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. 

Their conditions are unknown at this time.

The southbound lanes of the Purchase Parkway were closed for several hours.
