Road closure on I-24 in Lyon County

UPDATE: The site is cleared and the ramp is open.

A road closure is expected along Interstate 24 at exit 43 in Lyon County because a motor home that was being transported landed on a guardrail.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says the large motor home landed on top of the guardrail along the ramp from I-24 eastbound to I-69 northbound in the interchange. The ramp is closed to allow the motor home to be retrieved from on top of the guardrail.

Todd says one lane is open to traffic, but he expects all lanes to close for two to four hours.

Drivers are advised to take Exit 45 and loop around, or take U.S. 62 toward Eddyville.
