In this week’s Help Wanted, we’re highlighting several free workshops to help you land a job and upcoming hiring events.

Career Solutions Community has announced free fall workshops, open to the public.

1.) Resume Writing Workshop: Oct. 27 from 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center

2.) Interview Skills Workshop: Oct. 15 from 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center; Oct. 29 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center

3.) Microsoft Excel for Beginners: Oct. 22 from 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center, Room 150

4.) Microsoft Word for Beginners: Oct. 20 from 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center; Oct. 26  from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center

5.) Navigating LinkedIn Workshop: Oct. 22 from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center

6.) Basics of Social Media: Oct. 29 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. in the Emerging Technology Center, Room 226

2.) AT&T hiring 60 workers for Cape Girardeau, Missouri, call center

AT$T is hiring 60 employees at its call center at 351 S. Silver Circle Road in Cape Girardeau. These positions are for U-verse Solutions call center sales representatives. The jobs are full time and offer benefits including health care and 401K contribution matching and raises every six months. New employees will receive 12 weeks of paid training and on-the-job support as they learn new job skills. 

You must be at least 18 years old, have six months experience operating a computer in a Windows-based environment, and the availability to work a flexible schedule that includes all hours of call center operation (Monday-Friday; 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. 5 p.m.).
