Semi fire blocked eastbound I-24 traffic
UPDATE: The site is cleared and all lanes are open.
UPDATE: As of about 3:06 p.m., KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says the eastbound lanes of I-24 will stay closed for another half hour to 45 minutes.
A semi fire on Interstate 24 is blocking eastbound traffic in Christian County, Kentucky.
Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the wreck is near mile marker 80.
Traffic is backed up at the scene.
Crews are detouring eastbound traffic off at the US 68/KY 80 Cadiz exit 65 interchange.
A detour then takes traffic on US 68 eastbound to the Pennyrile Parkway southbound.
Emergency crews say a tire blew and caught on fire.
The truck is carrying frozen food products. No word on any injuries.
The westbound lanes are still open.
