Two men hospitalized in McCracken County wreck
Two Paducah men had to be taken to a local hospital for multiple injures sustained in a two-vehicle wreck Thursday, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were dispatched, as well as the Lone Oak Fire Department and Mercy Regional EMS, to the site of the two-vehicle wreck in Leeder Bottoms at the intersection of U.S. 45 and Kentucky 1241 around 1:45 p.m. Thursday.
Investigators say a red 2001 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by 81-year-old Carl Mathis and also occupied by 86-year-old Mattie Mathis, both of Mayfield, collided with a green 1997 Lexus ES300 driven by 31-year-old Gary Tabor Jr. and occupied by 47-year-old Brian Johnson, both of Paducah.
Tabor and Johnson, who were injured, were taken to a hospital, the sheriff’s department says. The Mathises were treated and released at the scene. The intersection was blocked for about an hour for medical response and to clear the scene.
