Woman accused of stealing from church will go to court

A grand jury will now consider a case against a Tennessee woman accused of stealing from her church.

Nancy Reed waived her preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

Police in Union City say Reed confessed last week to embezzling more than $80,000 from the First Christian Church.

An audit showed that, as the church’s secretary, Reed wrote checks to herself for personal use starting in 2009.
