Calvert City home destroyed in early morning fire

A home in Calvert City is destroyed after a fire broke out there overnight.

The call went out around 2:30 a.m. at a home on Orleans Lane.

Firefighters had to bring in water from almost a mile down the road because there wasn’t a hydrant close enough to the house.

No word on what caused the fire of if anyone was injured.

Emergency crews called in the Red Cross to help.
