Mother charged with using medication prescribed for her child

A Paducah woman was arrested and charged with using medication prescribed for her child.

The Paducah Police Department says 28-year-old Amanda Leach was getting prescriptions for Adderall for her child and then using the medication herself.

Detectives say the father had custody of the child during the time that Leach was getting the prescriptions.

In an interview, Leach admitted to using the medication.

Leach was arrested and charged with attempting or obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, false statement, or forgery.

She was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
