Teenager cited with hit and run

A teenager was cited in a hit and run in Marion, Illinois.

The Marion Police Department says a 11-year-old was hit in the area of North State Street and Patrick Street around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver of the car, a 16-year-old, fled from the scene and was later found in Johnston City.

The 16-year-old was taken to the Marion Police Department, cited for leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury, and then released into the custody of his parents.

The 11-year-old victim was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
