Coney throws 2 TD passes in EKU’s 27-10 win over SE Missouri

Bennie Coney threw two touchdown passes and Eastern Kentucky took a 27-10 victory over Southeast Missouri on Saturday.
    
Coney’s 29-yard pass to Bryan Green gave the FCS-ranked Colonels (4-2, 3-0) their first lead at 17-10 in the third quarter. Coney threw 7 yards to Joel Brown in the fourth and Lucas Williams added his second field goal. Adam Lane rushed for a 6-yard score in the second quarter.
    
Coney was 20 of 29 for 275 yards. Ben Madon had 117 yards on six catches.
    
Southeast Missouri (2-5, 1-2 Ohio Valley) took a 10-7 lead on Ryan McCrum’s field goal in the second half. Dante Vandeven’s 3-yard pass to Paul McRoberts gave the Redhawks receiver his 26th career TD reception, tying him with Willie Ponder (2001-02) for the school record. Vandeven was 24 of 36 for 160 yards. McRoberts made a career-high 10 catches.
    
Eastern Kentucky leads the series 23-3.
