City breaks ground on new hotel in downtown Paducah

It’s been years in the making, a new hotel in downtown Paducah.

Monday morning, city leaders broke ground on the project.

The city has been trying to replace the Executive Inn that used to sit at 600 North 4th Street with a new hotel for years.

After previous deals fell through, the city partnered with LinGate Hospitality to build a five story Holiday Inn.

The city and developers are confident enough in the project to hold today’s groundbreaking.

LinGate is still waiting on the state to approve a loan which will be the final piece of funding needed for the $19 million project.
