Kentucky’s lieutenant governor candidates to appear on KET
Kentucky’s major party nominees for lieutenant governor will appear together on statewide television Monday night just two weeks before the election.
Republican Jenean Hampton and Democrat Sannie Overly are scheduled to appear on KET’s Kentucky Tonight program at 7 p.m. CST.
Hampton is running with Republican nominee Matt Bevin. She is a former Air Force officer who now lives in Bowling Green. She has never held public office and could become the first African-American to hold statewide office in Kentucky.
Overly is running with Democratic nominee Jack Conway. She is a state representative and attorney from Paris. Overly is chairwoman of the House Democratic Caucus, the first woman to hold a leadership position in the state House of Representatives.
Independent candidate Heather Curtis was not invited because she did not meet KET’s polling standards.
