KSP investigating alleged fundraising fraud
The Kentucky State Police is asking the public’s help in a fraud case out of Murray.
KSP says on June 1 Lexus Benton was in a wreck and later died from her injuries. Before she died, a GoFundMe account was set up to raise money for her medical bills for the family. T-shirts were also sold to raise money, which was also supposed to be given to the family.
KSP says all the money wasn’t given to the family.
State police ask that if you know who made the shirts — or if you donated money through the GoFundMe account, bought a shirt, or gave money another way — to contact trooper Jody Cash by email at email@example.com or by calling KSP Post 1 at 270-856-3721.
