Law enforcement looking for Floyd Ray Cook in Cumberland County, Ky.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department tells us deputies are looking for Floyd Ray Cook, a fugitive accused of shooting at police in two states, in a wooded area in the county. 

He is accused of shooting and injuring an officer in Tennessee and of shooting at a Kentucky trooper who tried to stop him. Two people driving Cook’s car were arrested late Wednesday night in nearby White House, Tennessee.

Schools in the central Kentucky county reopened today after a three day closure put in place because of the manhunt. The Associated Press reports that school officials said Thursday that precautions are being taken, with heightened security and increased law enforcement presence at schools.
