Car hits utility pole, 2 sent to the hospital

A crash in front of McCracken County High School Friday night sent two people to the hospital.

Deputies say Savannah Miller, 16, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt westbound on US HWY 60 and noticed the traffic light had turned red in front of the school.  Miller told deputies she tried to stop, but the car began to skid and spun around, leaving the road and hitting a utility pole.

Miller and her passenger, Tara Knight, 16 were treated at the scene and taken to Lourdes Hospital for minor injuries.
