Former emergency management director sentenced to probation

Former Marshall County emergency management director Frank Murphy will spend the next two years on probation. He was sentenced Monday.

A grand jury indicted him in mid-June on one count of theft by unlawful taking and one count of official misconduct.

The circuit court clerk’s office says if Murphy gets in trouble during those two years, he’ll have to serve one year in jail for theft and official misconduct.

Murphy resigned from his position June 1.
