Chicago man pleads guilty to southern Illinois drug charges
A Chicago man pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful delivery of heroin in Jackson County, Illinois, the state’s attorney’s office said Wednesday.
The man — 33-year-old Marquan McGee — pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to serve six years in prison on each count, to run concurrently, followed by three years of mandatory supervised release.
The state’s attorney’s office says on Sept. 3 and Sept. 4 a source with the Carbondale Police Department Drug Task Force bought less than a gram of heroin from McGee in different locations. The transactions were audio and video recorded.
