WKCTC names new New Clemens Fine Arts Center director

West Kentucky Community and Technical College announced Thursday it has named central Illinois native Brian Heller as the new director of the Clemens Fine Arts Center.

Heller officially started in the position on Oct. 30, WKCTC said. The community college said Heller has more than 20 years of theater experience and most recently served more than four years as the executive director of Al. Ringling Theatre —a non-profit, historical theater in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

He succeeds Gail Robinson-Butler, who retired as center director in July after nearly 30 years at the college.

Heller earned a master’s degree in arts administration from the University of Wisconsi-Madison after studying music at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois.

Heller said he is interested in building a relationship with new audiences, but also with WKCTC students, faculty and staff. “I would like the center to be a resource for faculty, staff and students,” Heller said in Thursday’s announcement. “In keeping with the college’s mission, I would also like to see the Clemens Center support businesses in the community.”
