McAmis indicted on murder, theft charges

A McCracken County grand jury indicted a man Friday on charges of theft and murder in the death of a man whose body was found in Dolly McNutt Plaza on Halloween.

Andy McAmis is charged with murder in the death of Herald Bone. McAmis was jailed in the McCracken County Regional Jail Thursday after he was transported from Joliet, Illinois . He was arrested in the Illinois town located about 40 miles southwest of Chicago on Monday.

Bone’s body was found in Dolly McNutt Park Halloween morning. Investigators say McAmis and Bone had gotten into a fight about 9 p.m. the night before.

McAmis is jailed on a more than $250,000 cash bond. Arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 13.
