Local attorneys preparing wills free for veterans

Veterans Day is Wednesday, and several local attorneys are offering to perform free last will and testament preparation for veterans living in west Kentucky.

Jason Batts, an attorney in Hickman County and a judge advocate in the U.S. Army Reserves, organized the event. Batts has organized the event every year he has practiced law except the year he was attending basic training after joining the Army. Batts says he expects to reach "the 100th veteran help park" this year.

Any veteran living in west Kentucky can contact Batts’ firm at 270-653-6924 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Nov. 11 to request a free will with proof of military service. Then, veterans will be contacted by an attorney to schedule a time to meet and prepare the will.

Participating attorneys include:

The Law Office of Greg Taylor
The Law Office of Mary Potter
The Law Office of Michael Hogancamp
The Law Office of Sue Ellen Morris
Null, Samson, and Paitsel
Hargrove Foster
Prince and Brien
Elizabeth Wieneke
Whitney Riley
