Al Roker crosses off four states in Rokerthon 2

Fifty weather forecasts in 50 states —Al Roker arrived in the Local 6 area before dawn Tuesday morning.

Roker arrived on the west side of the Mississippi River in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s like Elvis has come back from the dead, and is here to visit us again," said Dr. Chase Dimock.

Roker was met with fanfare by a band down by the water front and hundreds of fans.  He did a live weather forecast for the Today Show.

"We are in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and look at the fog!" said Roker.

The fog did follow Al to the other side of the Mississippi River in Cairo, Illinois.

"I enjoy seeing Al. Love the program. Love him coming to Southern Illinois to Cairo," said Gerald Watkins Sr.

The Oscar Meyer "Wienermobile" picked up Roker as he hoped to "ketchup" with everyone in Wickliffe, Kentucky. Once in Kentucky, he hops on a horse to greet the crowds before making the hour drive to Union City, Tennessee.

The fog still holds as Roker arrives at Discovery Park of America, but that doesn’t hold off the crowds.  Roker rode in on a vintage firetruck. Then, he was escorted out of the park by the Union City High School Band to the tune of "Rocky Top" as Rokerthon 2 continues on.
