A Texas man was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing his car in McCracken County.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department say 42-year-old Ronald Smith of Texas was driving his car westbound on Geibe road when he crossed over the railroad tracks, lost control of his car, and hit an embankment.

Deputies say Smith was intoxicated at the time of the accident and was arrested.

His passenger, 35-year-old Tessa Ezell of Paducah, was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Smith was charged with DUI, wanton endangerment, and criminal mischief.
