Winter Programs:

Homeplace and Nature Station will offer multiple guided programs, including the Bald Eagle Van and River Cruise Tours.

Beginning Nov. 28, Planetarium visitors can experience vivid laser lights set to holiday music and other holiday shows digitally projected on a 40-foot dome. Groups of 10 or more can make reservations any time by calling 270-924-2020.

Open Year-round:

Elk & Bison Prairie — Open dawn-to-dusk. LBL says the winter months offer the best chance to view elk, as the colder and shorter days draw them out later in the morning and earlier in the afternoon to feed.

Self-Service Fee Camping Areas and Backcountry Camping Areas — Open

Wranglers Campground, Turkey Bay OHV Area, hiking and biking trails, and Golden Pond Target Range — Open unless inclement weather causes temporary closures for visitor safety (To allow for safe clean-up and maintenance of the area, Wednesday morning Target Range closures until 11 a.m. will continue).

When planning a trip to Turkey Bay or Wranglers to trail ride during times of excessive wet conditions, LBL advises to “Call Before You Haul,” by dialing 270-924-2000 and pressing 1 for alerts and notices on weather related closures, or check the Alerts page at landbetweenthelakes.us.
