Carbondale City Council approves Varsity Center liquor license change

Carbondale’s Varsity Center for the Arts can change its liquor license from a bar to a public arts venue.

The Carbondale City Council unanimously approved the center’s request to change the liquor license Tuesday night.

The new license is for arts and entertainment nonprofits and comes with a cheaper annual fee.
