Poplar Bluff man charged with kidnapping a woman
A Poplar Bluff man was arrested and charged with kidnapping a woman.
The Poplar Bluff Police Department says on Monday they were called to the 600 block of Cleveland Street on reports that a woman had been kidnapped.
During the investigation, 44-year-old Doyle Turner was identified as a person of interest.
Two officers went to a home in the 100 block of West Harper to search for Turner and the victim.
When they got to the home, they found Turner and the victim in a shed behind the home.
The victim was rescued and Turner was arrested without incident.
He was taken to the Butler County Jail and charged with burglary, kidnapping, forcible rape, forcible sodomy, armed criminal action, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of an illegal weapon (short barrel shotgun).
