Kidnapping of two children under investigation in Sikeston

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety says the SEMO Major Case Squad is investigating a kidnapping in Sikeston. They’re asking for the public’s help in finding two missing brothers: ages 8 and 6.

The Sikeston DPS got a call about the two missing boys around 4 p.m. Thursday. Officers say the boys — 8-year-old Alexander Phillips and 6-year-old Logan Phillips — got off their school bus on Russell Street in Sikeston. Witnesses told officers that the boys’ father, who has no parental rights, took the children and left in a Silver Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The father — Clarence “Eugene” Phillips — was reportedly with another unknown subject, who was driving the vehicle.  Officers say it is unknown at this time where the father may be taking the children. Police say he is reportedly homeless.

Officers ask that anyone with information about the missing children immediately contact Sikeston DPS at 573-471-4711. All tips can remain anonymous.
