Boys kidnapped in Sikeston found safe, father arrested

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety say two brothers who were kidnapped Thursday afternoon have been found safe.

8-year-old Alexander Phillips and 6-year-old Logan Phillips were allegedly taken by their father, who has no parental rights, after getting off their school bus.

Friday morning, just before 8:00 a.m., the Sikeston Department of Public Safety and Miner Police Department got a call that the two boys and their father were walking on Malone near Edwards Street in Sikeston.

Police went to the area and found the boys’ father, Clarence "Eugene" Phillips, walking on Rogers Street in Miner.

He was arrested and told police that he had just dropped off the kids at the mother’s home on Russell Street.

Police got in contact and confirmed they were safe.
