Zack Pittman coming home Wednesday

After more than four months in rehab, Zack Pittman is headed home on Wednesday.  His mom told Local 6’s Robert Bradfield he is expected to be discharged from Frazier Rehab Wednesday morning or early afternoon.

Pittman was hit while walking home from school in McCracken County in May.  He has had several surgeries and was in a coma for several days.  Doctors even removed a portion of his skull to relieve pressure on his brain.

Laurie Pittman says Zack has been thriving in rehab where doctors have scheduled him for occupational, physical and speech therapies multiple times a day. That rehab work will continue once Zack returns to west Kentucky.

There will be an informational meeting Monday at 5pm at the gazebo at Noble Park to go over plans for an escort Wednesday once Zack reaches the county line.
