Arrest made in Calloway County quadruple homicide

Kentucky State Police says it has arrested a man in the homicide of a family of four in Calloway County that happened Nov. 17. Troopers say the man is a relative of the family. 

The bodies of Bulmaro Arellano, Marisol Hernandez and their two children —  5-year-old Miguel Hernandez-Arellano and 13-month-old Marisol Hernandez-Arellano — were found inside their Calloway County home Nov. 17. Fire had been set to the home. An autopsy found that the cause of Bulmaro’s death was multiple gunshot wounds to head and body, and 23-year-old Marisol’s cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the face. 

The relative, 21-year-old Pascasio Y. Pacheco Arellano of Mayfield, was arrested at 2 p.m. Monday and charged with first degree burglary, four counts of murder, first degree arson and tampering with physical evidence. 

KSP says detectives met with Pascasio Arellano on Saturday and immediately noticed he was injured. Detectives took him to a local hospital for treatment.  He was released from the hospital on Monday, and troopers say he and was taken into custody without incident. 

The Associated Press reports that Pascasio Arellano is a nephew of Bulmaro Arellano.
