Bond denied for man charged with homicide of Calloway County family

The man arrested in connection to the homicide of a family of four in Calloway County made his first court appearance on Tuesday.

21-year-old Pascasio Y. Pacheco Arellano of Mayfield was arrested Monday and charged with first degree burglary, four counts of murder, first degree arson, and tampering with physical evidence.

He is accused of killing Bulmaro Arellano, Marisol Hernandez, and their two children.

All four were found dead inside their Calloway County home on November 17.

According to the criminal complaint, the family had recorded a conversation with Pacheco Arellano where he confessed to the murders.

During his court appearance, Judge Randy Hutchens denied bond for Pacheco Arellano.

He also entered a not guilty plea for Pacheco Arellano who does not yet have an attorney.

Judge Hutchens said they are looking at amending this to a capital case, which includes the possibility of the death penalty.

Pacheco Arellano’s next court date is December 2nd.
