Calvert City Fire Department grieving loss of one of its own

The Calvert City Fire Department is mourning the loss of Assistant Fire Chief Terry Culver.

The fire department said on its Facebook page Tuesday that Culver passed away after a medical emergency while responding to a fire call.

The fire department posted an image of a black Maltese cross with a red band on the Facebook page. The post reads:

"It is with great sadness that your Calvert City Fire Department announces the passing of our assistant chief Terry Culver (TC). Terry passed away after a medical emergency while responding to a fire call within our great city. We always mourn the loss of a firefighter, but when it is one of your own the hurt and pain is indescribable. Please keep Terry’s family and your fire department in your thoughts and prayers throughout this Thanksgiving weekend. The family needs it, and the CCFD appreciates it. Rest easy brother, we have the fire watch from here."

There is no word yet on his funeral arrangements.
