High speed chase in Tennessee leads to crash

A man accused of leading police on a high speed chase is in the hospital.

The Weakley County Sheriff’s Department says Monday evening a deputy noticed a vehicle without its headlights on driving on Main Street in Martin, Tennessee.

The vehicle was reported stolen from Bad Bob’s in Union City on Saturday.

After the driver led police on a chase between Martin and South Fulton, the vehicle crashed on State Line Road east of Dukedom.

The driver, Greg Birchem, was flown to Memphis for treatment of his injuries.

Several charges are pending in Weakley County.
