Eggners Ferry Bridge back open to traffic

The Eggners Ferry Bridge is back open to traffic.

Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the bridge was reopened just before 5:00 a.m.

It had been closed since Tuesday morning so that crews could begin installing the main span of the new Eggners Ferry Bridge.

Crews are still working on installing the new span and work is expected to continue throughout the day.

River traffic is still being blocked.

The Eggners Ferry Bridge carries US 68/KY 80 traffic over Kentucky Lake.
