McCracken County man charged with felony theft

A McCracken County man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a theft that took place the Best Western at Exit 11 on Nov. 25. 

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department says more than $500 was taken from behind the front desk of the Best Western, and that 36-year-old James Chancellor II was later identified from a surveillance video. 

Chancellor was arrested Tuesday on a charge of theft by unlawful taking over $500 but under $10,000 — a class D felony — and jailed in the McCracken County Regional Jail. He bond was set at $1,000.
