Family injured after buggy was hit by car

A family had to be taken to a hospital after their buggy was hit by a car.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office say the accident happened on KY 339 West at the Purchase Parkway in Wingo Wednesday evening.

27-year-old Daniel Clapp says he was driving his car west of KY 339 when he came over a hill and and saw a horse and buggy traveling in the same direction.

Clapp said he couldn’t stop in time and hit the back of the buggy, causing the horse to break free and doing serious damage to the buggy.

Inside the buggy was 45-year-old Emeunal Gingrich, 46-year-old Ann Gingrich, and a toddler.

All three were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
