Carbondale leaders vote to allow alcohol sales in movie theater

A Carbondale, Illinois, movie theater can now serve alcohol after city leaders voted to change its liquor license classification. 

The Carbondale City Council unanimously agreed Tuesday night to grant a a Class K license to the liquor code of the AMC theater at University Place Shopping Center.
     
The Class K license will allow the theater to sell alcohol to anyone age 21 and older before or during movies at a bar in the theater’s lobby.
