In Local 6 area, 8 of 13 members of Congress are millionaires

The base salary for members of Congress is $174,000, but a Center for Responsive Politics analysis of lawmakers’ 2014 personal finance disclosures shows eight of the 13 federal legislators in the Local 6 area are millionaires.

The analysis shows Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker as our richest member of Congress. He’s worth about an estimated $45.4 million.

Next on our list Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill at around $24.9 million, followed by Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell at around $22.1 million and Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander at around $13 million.

Last on our list are Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk at $440,000 and Illinois Rep. Mike Bost at $430,000.
