Lane restriction continues on part of U.S. 60 in Ballard County

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a contractor is continuing daytime lane restrictions along a section of U.S. 60 in Ballard County and adding a 45 mile per hour work zone speed limit when workers are present.

U.S. 60 near mile point 2.22 in Ballard County will be restricted to one lane during daylight hours so crews can extend the Cane Creek South Fork Culvert.  That’s along U.S. 60 near Crystal Lake Lane, between Wickliffe and Barlow.

KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says the work zone now has a "strictly enforced" 45 mile per hour speed limit because there have been issues with speeding and drivers "endangering themselves and workers by attempting to pass other vehicles in this restricted area."

Todd says drivers will encounter one-lane traffic with alternating flow at the site during daylight hours. The work zone will be taken down at night.

He says the work is expected to take about another week to complete if the weather allows.
