Funeral services set for Illinois miner who died in mining accident

Preliminary autopsy results has been released on the Marion, Illinois man who was killed in a mining accident.

20-year-old Tyler Rath died in a fatal accident at the M-class Mine located on North Thompsonville Road in Macedonia, Illinois Tuesday evening.

According to the preliminary autopsy results, Rath died of blunt trauma to the head, neck, trunk, and extremities.

Rath leaves behind a wife and two children.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home in Marion, Illinois.

Funeral services will immediately follow.
